PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE ARCHITECT

BILLERICA, MA

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Principal Software Architect to join our Software Engineering team. This individual will be self-motivated, creative, proactive, and able to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms, architectures, process technologies, and lab environments. The individual will work closely with hardware engineers, R&D researchers, product support engineers, scientists, and other stakeholders. The individual must command a strong understanding of object-oriented software and Windows 10 & Linux operating systems.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Primary owner for the architecture and the development of high-level image analysis code in object-oriented software for the image analysis of samples.
  • Develop & Architect software that provides users with an image analysis workflow for analyzing samples with multiplexed immunofluorescence. The workflow will include viewing imagery and generating a report.
  • Utilize the feature/defect tracking system along with other SW team members, project managers, hardware engineers, and scientists to document project features, triage and troubleshoot defects, and prioritize activities.
  • Lead and participate in Quanterix software code and design reviews.
  • Coordinate code development with contract resources
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior SW developers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science
  • 10-15 years of experience with object-oriented software C++, C#, .NET, Java and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of the Windows 10 & Linux operating systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with front-end frameworks like CSS, JavaScript, HTML, React or Angular (highly desirable)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with cloud-based software development (highly desirable)
  • Solid understanding of fundamental software concepts, including the software development life cycle, concurrent programming, object-oriented programming, functional programming, database storage, data structures, server/client model (highly desirable)
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL (highly desirable)
  • Intel's MKL and image processing is (desirable)
  • Experience with the Swing library in Java (desirable)
  • Knowledge of computation calculation (desirable)
  • Experience in Jira management, or equivalent bug tracking tools (desirable)
  • Experience in the Diagnostic/Biotech industry and knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 (desirable)

  • Demonstrated ability to work well within and lead cross-functional teams (desirable)
  • Excellent collaboration capabilities, with the ability to influence laterally and upwardly.
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 2% international and domestic travel.
