Front Desk Receptionist--Ellicot City
Job Summary:
Greet patients, vendors, pharmaceutical representatives, and other visitors to our medical office.
Check patients in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary data
Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
Field all phone calls accordingly, scheduling/ rescheduling appointments, message to doctors, requests for labs etc. Schedule patients within the parameters our office has set. One hour for new patients, half-hour for follow up patients. Check messages throughout the day and respond accordingly.
Scanning daily is an important function that assists billing and is a necessity for other parts of the patient's chart.
Update patient demographic information as needed.
Utilize office software to schedule patients and follow ups. Document patient encounters as well as process co-payments and payments on account balances. Utilize EMR system to document patient encounters. ie. Labs requests, messages to the doctors, prescription refills.
Maintain confidentiality on patient records as well as obtain necessary consent prior to release of any patient medical information.
Manage inventory and coordinate with Practice Manager for reordering
Maintain a professional atmosphere for the patients at all times.
Ensure that the waiting room environment remains quiet, calm, and welcoming.
Take and record patient vitals
Pull patients' records for doctors' review.
Team work and collaboration with other staff as there are shared duties and communication will ensure the office runs smoothly.
Effectively communicate patient's needs with physicians
Performs secretarial functions as necessary or directed.
Additional job-related duties as assigned.
Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
Day Shift; 8:30am- 5:00pm; weekend work not required
