Job Description

About the Role: We are looking for a Gore Business System Leader (GBSL) to join our team. In this role, you willprovide the leadership, coaching, support and project management to an area of the organization to support the implementation and application of the Gore Business System (GBS) in our Elixir business. This position will identify areas of potential improvement and work with company Leaders to realize the improvement potential by using tools that include Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 6S, Daily Management, Standard Work, Pull Systems and Problem- Solving Process. You will ensure that all improvements implemented are consistent with all Regulatory, Quality, and Corporate Compliance requirements.The candidate will have significant experience developing and driving Lean culture change and deploying the tools, system, and methodologies.

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for successfully deploying sustainable standard leadership and lean tools in Elixir including but not limited to; Daily Management, Standard Work, Leadership Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Pull System, Visual Management and A3 thinking
  • Help to establish an organizational culture of Continuous Improvement by acting as a coach and mentor to all levels within the organization and building a small dedicated continuous improvement team over time
  • Through the use of Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, or other similar techniques identify processes and eliminate 8 level waste within the organization that can achieve a significant gain
  • Continually challenge conventional thinking by challenging current processes and procedures in the spirit of continuous improvement
  • Model what it means to be a change agent within the organization
  • Work with organizational Leaders to build Kaizen funnel and prioritize opportunities for improvement in alignment delivering business strategies
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and coach team members on Kaizen preparation and post-Kaizen action implementation
  • Work closely with organizational leaders and relevant stakeholders to identify and deploy meaningful operational KPIs
  • Provide ongoing education to the organization in the areas of Continuous Improvement
  • Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior

Required Qualifications:

  • Lean Certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement including commercial business processes, with a demonstrated track record of implementation success
  • Expert level experience implementing and training on Strategy Deployment, Problem Solving, Transactional Process Improvement, and Value Stream Mapping
  • Significant experience in other foundational lean tools including, but not limited to: Visual Management, Daily Management, Standard Work/Leader Standard Work, 6S, Kaizen, 8 wastes, Gemba walks, etc.
  • Track record of influencing across functions and leadership teams
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices
  • Excellent analytical, project management and presentation skills
  • Record of productively navigating conflict and tension to inspire team and peers
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to transparently communicate, relate to people at all levels of the organization, influence and develop followership cross-functionally
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field or Business
  • Experience in a regulated industry
