Overview:

The Distribution Center Supervisor is the first level of full scope leadership over several small teams responsible for daily outputs in Shipping, Service Parts, Reconfigure, Finish goods and Federal Trade zone inventory management and audits or equivalent setting. To advance to this position, prospective incumbents will demonstrate the ability to: perform and lead a small team satisfactorily at all work areas, plan and manage the teams daily working tasks based on the departments demand requirements, review team and individual performance, conduct a full range of inspections, identify problems, and instruct new employees while providing ongoing coaching and feedback to supervised team members.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • The ability to load finished goods units onto trailers, understanding the configuration and load positioning on the trailers, understand what documentation is required for a load based on its destination or status, Assure inspection and repair compliance for units shipping, assure that all documentation and reports are processed on a daily basis.
  • Manage the Federal Trade Zone entries and exports, Assure the process flow of inbound units have the proper documentation to receive in into the zone, Assure the weekly FTZ reporting in done in a timely manner, assure that the filing of units documentation is in accordance of the FTZ manual. When exporting units assure that the information flow for obtaining the documentation that is required from the bonded shipper to obtain the 7512 inbond documentation is not delayed and escalate if needed, track all information that is related to FTZ units, create the annual 216 FTZ Renewal request. Create and manage the end of year inventory count and required FTZ board reporting document.
  • Using the Tulip and Qlik Cloud apps and sites assure that inbound, Aged inventory and out bound inspections are properly being done and the issues are being repaired and closed out before shipping the unit
  • Assist with assuring that Service Orders are processing in a timely manor and help when issues are escalated.
  • Assists with gathering information on items such as takt time cycles, efficiency tracking, daily tracking, materials warehouse, Kit delivery issues. evaluation of safe and quality work methods, etc.
  • Manage the Production obligations and schedule team members for their completion.
  • Operates a variety of handheld and power-assisted tools, and production fixtures.
  • Strong orientation towards safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale and continuous improvement.
  • Understand the flow of production and adhere to operations visual management system and manufacturing process.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school curriculum or the equivalent through experience is preferred; additional vocational education may substitute for experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 4-5 years hands-on experience in Shipping, Service Parts, Reconfigure, and audit processes.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing Federal Trade Zone Processes.
  • Ability to apply lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Good attendance is key to success.
  • Manages areas budget spend.
  • Ensures adherence to Genie policies.
  • The position requires basic understanding of shipping processes sufficient to organize, inspect, and schedule equipment and team members to cover the daily demand.
  • Requires Basic knowledge in the usage of hand tools, handheld power tools, fabricating equipment, and portable air tools.
  • Requires skill at resolving workstation-related problems affecting equipment, productivity, or quality.
  • Requires sufficient human relations skill to convey technical information to and maintain harmony with team members.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crawl on a continuous basis; up to 10 hours a day.
  • Requires the ability to lift, pull, push and guide medium weigh objects (20-40 pounds) on a continuous basis.
  • Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to guide objects into specific placement or alignment and make precise measurements.
  • Requires visual acuity to observe moving objects and events, select, and place materials. Requires auditory ability to project voice in a manufacturing environment and hear instructions

Salary:

The salary range for this position is starting $75,000 salary. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
