PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of routine and/or low-mid dollar value buying/purchasing tasks involving materials, supplies, or services
  • Reviews purchase requisitions and places orders with approved suppliers
  • Evaluates bids, selects and/or recommends suppliers, and negotiates price, delivery, quality, and service
  • Follows up on all awards until completion of orders
  • Performs records management, file maintenance and reporting
  • Manages and orders office supplies for work location
  • Assists in negotiations for major purchases by developing or compiling statistical information and other data as required
  • Interfaces with company executives, program managers, engineers, and infrastructure managers in accounting, property, security, shipping/receiving, information technology, facilities, and contracting to perform duties and resolve questions on procurement issues
  • Backs up and supports procurement managers in preparation, management, and closeout of subcontracts and consulting agreements, as requested and assigned
  • Assists in collecting, compiling, and reporting procurement metrics
  • Participates in continuous improvement program, recommends process and technique changes, and assists in implementation
  • Practices teamwork and open communication, fosters positive interpersonal relationships, and aligns behavior with Company mission, values, and goals
