Spring Harbor Hospital is a 100-bed free-standing nonprofit psychiatric hospital located in Westbrook, ME. It is one of two freestanding psychiatric hospitals in the state of Maine and offers services for both children and adults. This newly created leadership structure, is to evolve to a reduced span of control to allow for better services.

This is a 6 bed general adult psychiatric unit, who services patients who may have experienced acute psychiatric illnesses and any other co-occurring disorders. It will provide a low stimulus environment focusing on both safety and symptom stabilization with the goal of transferring the patient to another adult unit when appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, great communication skills and the ability to work with a team of dedicated members. This role allows you to provide highly individualized care to our communities most acute psychiatric patients and their symptoms.

Position Summary

• The Nursing Supervisor provides coordination, supervision and management of all nursing functions on the inpatient units. The Nursing Supervisor reports directly to the Nursing Director or designee and works collaboratively with unit leadership, ensuring the successful operation of the unit.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program/RN required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
• License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
• Experience: 2+ years of nursing experience preferred. Experience with psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
• Demonstrate expertise in clinical practice and judgment.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills.
