Job Summary

The Bronner Lab in the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering is seeking a motivated individual to join as a Research Technician. The successful candidate will assist on one or more projects to study neural crest and its role in development and regeneration in non-model organisms, such as lamprey and sturgeon.

Essential Job Duties

  • Conduct scientific analysis of experimental results related to molecular and developmental biology (PCR, plasmid preparation, in situ hybridizations, microscopy and histological techniques).
  • Lamprey husbandry.
  • Interpret experimental findings with PIs.
  • Keep detailed records of experimental research.
  • Will contribute to assembling publications.
  • Perform other related duties assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree or higher with 2 years of relevant scientific research experience.
  • Experience with molecular biology and embryology of model organisms like Lamprey.
  • Must be able to work well with others and keep accurate records, with precise attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with embryology of model organisms, such as lamprey, and background in phylogenomic and molecular biology (in situ hybridizations, PCR, cloning).

Hiring Range

$22.75 - $30.00 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
