Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated and experienced CNC Machinist to join our company. As part of our team, you will follow blueprints, determine material measurements, and take responsibility for fabricating parts using CNC Mill, Lathe, Waterjet and additional fabrication equipment.

Under limited supervision, the Programmer/Machinist performs semi-repetitive specialized machine operations. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily in an autonomous and innovative environment which requires flexibility and foresight. An employee may also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by his/her supervisor. The Programmer/Machinist will be expected to be self-sufficient and detailed.

CNC Programmer/Machinist Basic Functions:

    Work involves interpreting written instructions and specifications, and planning and laying out work over a broad variety of assignments.
  • Works closely with engineers, using drawings, sketches, verbal instructions, and experimental ideas.
  • Designs and fabricates own tooling and fixtures to perform complex operations using a variety of metals and materials.
  • Familar with CNC programming and operating systems, specifically Mastercam.
  • Create and maintain the CNC Programming for both Lathe and Mill machines.
  • Perform general maintenance on the machines.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
  • Experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Partners with manager on project prioritization
  • Collaborates with other programmers.
  • Strong Work Ethic and solutions focused

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, 4 years of experience
  • Machining certificate from technical school and 2 years of mechanical assembly
  • Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist including CNC milling and turning, programming, setup, and operation.
  • Experience programming CNC Mills and Lathes
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

  • Strong PC knowledge

  • Master Cam

Required Experience:

  • Working knowledge of how to set up and operate CNC lathes or mills.
  • Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to write and edit machine programs.
  • Understanding of blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Knowledge of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
  • Proficiency in math
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment:

  • Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking.
  • Must be able to lift-up to 50 lbs.
  • The work site is an industrial manufacturing operation and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in some aspects of the role.

Target Salary Range
$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
