Responsibilities:

  • The selected candidate will manage the R&D Transition Team.
  • This individual will supervise a dedicated subset of R&D focused on developing internal processes to successfully launch new products and provide technical support to current product launches.
  • This position involves managing the daily activities of the team, process development, coordinating with external vendors, and supporting internal groups including Assembly, Quality, Purchasing, and Production Engineering.
  • This position will report to the Equipment R&D Engineering Manager.
  • Support the development and execution of project releases from R&D.
  • Manage the daily activities of the Transition team including prioritizing work, scheduling, and managing capacity.
  • Recognize and execute on opportunities within the organization that can reduce our time to market.
  • Applies knowledge of engineering principles and practices, in design, development, analysis, and release of products and subsystems.
  • Build in-depth understanding of Intralox' Activated Roller Belt Technology.
  • Effectively collaborate and coordinate across multiple disciplines including project managers, controls engineers, mechanical engineers, assembly technicians, and test engineers.
  • Develop creative solutions and alternatives for specific problems in manufacturing.
  • Support equipment installation and start-up, often on-site in customer plants.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales account managers and customers by phone, via written correspondence and webcasts and in person in customer facilities.
  • Create resource plans to align with business needs.
  • Conduct performance review sessions and compensation discussions.
  • Approve PTO / Sign-off on time sheets.
  • Handle disciplinary actions.
  • Work with direct report(s) to develop and achieve professional and personal growth goals.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required - Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in technology roles.
  • Excellent written, verbal and diagramming / mapping skills.
  • Travel required (up to 20%) for equipment installation and troubleshooting; often taking place on weekends and holidays to meet customer scheduling requirements.
  • Strong mechanical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and Engineering Systems such as CAD, PDM and/or PLM
  • Position located at company offices in Hanover, MD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; works well in a team environment.
  • Maintain poise and focus under time constraint pressures and adverse conditions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and resources concurrently.
  • Willing and able to work with tools in an industrial environment.
  • Must have ability to lift 60 pounds and climb ladders.
  • This role necessitates on-site presence primarily at our Hanover office, with occasional work at our Sparrows Point location.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a people management preferred but not required.
  • Conveyor equipment design preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCad and Windchill PLM.
  • Experience with HMIs, PLC logic, and controls communication protocols.
