What You'll Do:

As the Data Development SME, you will support the Modeling & Simulation Enterprise Applications (MSEA)/Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) team. This position will offer you the opportunity to support an innovative and mission-critical DoD program.


This will be an in-office position and not eligible for remote work. Candidate must be local to the Southern Maryland area.


What you'll do:

  • Appling tactical knowledge to support the development of entity models.
  • Performing TechELINT analysis on complex waveforms associated with a wide range of red and blue force systems.
  • Working with software programmers to develop and refine simulation presentation of real-world ELINT parametric data.
  • Performing signal translation of waveform data into a descriptive and behavioral modeling & Simulation language for Development and Test.
  • Conducting specific technical duties on NGTS, perform threat system analysis and sensor modeling of radars, electronic warfare (EW) systems, countermeasures, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) systems, and various weapons.
  • Conducting specific sensor research, analysis, correlation, and assessment in order to reproduce the sensor as a software model through a suite of NGTS data editing tools.
  • Participating in software test activities including test procedure creation and test plan development.
  • Understanding and discussing simulation requirements with the customers, document and track these requirements, and provide technical input to modelers with regards to fidelity, accuracy, and intended use, as well as acting as liaison with aircrew and program leads.


What's cool? The NGTS is a continually evolving synthetic environment generator that supports multiple platform/services training, testing, analysis, and research and development. You will be developing software for this advanced synthetic training environment. The software is integrated into flight simulators to support pilot training against potential threats. You will assist a software development team in developing an advanced synthetic training environment to support military pilot training.

Requirements

Who You Are:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Math, or equivalent military experience.
  • You have 8 years of experience in relevant work area.
  • You have significant tactical military aviation experience in Fighter, Attack, Support aircraft, or Rotary wing experience with at least one of the sensors/systems listed below, from either an aircrew, ground operator, or flight test environment: radar, radar warning receivers, threat system analysis, countermeasures, EO/IR, air-to-air weapons, air-to-ground weapons, surface-to-air models, or other electronic Warfare system.
  • You have recent and relevant knowledge of tactics, training, and procedures for deployment of those systems in a current combat environment.
  • You have prior experience as an Electronic Warfare Operator, Flag Plot Analyst, or Threat Training SME.
  • You have basic knowledge of XML files.
  • You have familiarity/experience with the NGTS.
  • You have prior experience supporting Model and Simulation efforts.
  • You have prior experience performing software testing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive personality with the ability to work with limited guidance and supervision.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, adept at managing competing priorities and initiating projects.
  • You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • You have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision.
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Your organizational skills are impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
