Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of all floors in the buildings of the WVU Medicine campus. Duties will include cleaning, dusting, mopping, burnishing, scrubbing, buffing, stripping, and waxing of floors. Cleaning and maintenance of carpets and rugs will also be performed. Moving of furniture before and after as needed to complete assignments. The mixing and using of chemicals as needed to perform assignment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Performs a wide range of skilled floor care duties.

2. Cleans carpets within established procedures.

3. Proper operation and use of floor care equipment (i.e., floor burnishes, floor vacuums, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, side by sides, wet/dry vacuums, boost machines, etc.).

4. Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner and to set schedules for completion.

5. Mixes and uses chemicals in a safe and controlled manner following all established rules and guidelines.

6. Moves furniture and other items before and after cleaning, stripping and waxing.

7. Reports all equipment maintenance issues in a timely manner for proper repairs.

8. Wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment.

1. Must have the physical capability to stand, walk, reach, climb, ascend/descend stairs and ladders, for a maximum of eight (8) hours.

2. Must have the physical capability to lift and/or carry 25-50 pounds for a maximum of eight (8) hours

3. Must have the physical capability to push and/or pull 25 pounds for a maximum of eight (8) hours and 15 - 90+ pounds for a maximum of two (2) hours.

1. Uses proper precautions in the performance of duties in which the following exposures : vibrations' skin and/or lung irritants such as stripper, wax, cleaning chemicals, etc.

1. Listening skills: Be attentive to all instructions, guidance and rules explained to perform assignments

2. Attention to detail: Assigned areas are clean and professional in appearance.Corners and edges are free of build=up

3. Time Management: Able to complete tasks in a timely manner.Can keep to a set schedule of multiple tasks.
