Job/Internship Description

Science Systems and Applications, Inc (SSAI) is seeking a Website Development intern to support a program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) for the Summer of 2024. This task involves a number of activities to support work on the development, production and assessment of the model, analysis and ensemble forecasting system that is used to perform subseasonal, seasonal and decadal retrospective and near-real time forecasts, as well as longer-term climate simulations. The task includes work to generate a coupled atmosphere-ocean analysis to produce estimates of the ocean state and to initialize subseasonal through decadal forecasts, to develop a coupled atmosphere-ocean model with improved prediction and simulation skill, to develop methods to generate forecast ensembles, to develop innovative methods for analyzing climate variability and predictability, and to make strides towards the development of a more fully coupled atmosphere-ocean reanalysis capability.



Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in necessary team meetings and other member focus groups
  • Brainstorm front-end designs given website requirements
  • Develop and evaluate front-end prototypes
  • Work with seasonal system team to deploy finalized front-end design
  • Present final design


Required Qualifications:

  • High School/Undergraduate student with experience in modern website development.
  • Experience with front-end website development
  • Programming experience
  • Permanent Residency or US Citizenship.
