General Summary
Performs emergency and scheduled psychiatric evaluations, individual therapy, group therapy and case-management functions to clients in mental health programs associated with Shore Health System.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Conducts intake interviews, psychosocial and mental status evaluations for primary psychiatric triage and care.
  2. Develops an individualized plan of care for each client in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
  3. Provides individual therapy, group therapy and case management functions.
  4. Monitors clients' responses to treatment and revises the plan of care.
  5. Collaborates with the Psychiatrist, Director of Behavioral Health Services, referral sources and community agencies.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and License/Certification

  • Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing, social work, or counseling required.
  • LCSW (Licensed Certified Social Worker) OR LCPC (Licensed Professional Counselor, OR RN with APRN (Clinical Nurse Specialist) required. Candidates with LGSW or LGPC will be considered, but must receive LCSW or LCPC within 1 year.
  • Minimum of two years of outpatient psychiatric counselling or social work experience in a mental health setting, preferred.
