About the Job

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Portfolio Management: Manages a loan portfolio consisting of large, complex commercial real estate and/or specialized (eg., SBA) substandard or criticized credits to minimize credit losses, ensure return matches risk and, where possible, return customers to a satisfactory rating. Recommends appropriate workout plans on these credits which translate into acceptable payments or in the alternative, moves the account towards foreclosure/liquidation. Consults on deteriorating complex credits and recommends the appropriate course of action in handling a problem account. Appropriately monitors the progress of workout accounts and recommends any required changes in action necessary to minimize loss or prevent losses.
  2. Asset Liquidation: Develops, recommends and executes account workout or liquidation plans. Conducts/prepares periodic account reviews and proposals, which includes the analysis of the operating and financial risks involved with the credits. Works directly with legal counsel (internal and/or external) and monitors legal progress/developments. Works with bank counsel in a cost effective manner to achieve desired results.
  3. Delinquency Reporting: Analyzes loan impairment and recommends specific provisions and/or charge-offs. Reviews delinquency reports (Past Due Liability Report), non-accrual status, and other management reports (Non-Accrual Review Report) to assist in detecting the warning signs. Prepares various special assets management-related reports as assigned.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Minimum of 10 to 15 years of Commercial Real Estate and Acquisition Development and Construction loan workout experience. Strong knowledge of credit analysis, loan documentation, accounting, bankruptcy, real estate valuation and foreclosure/sheriff sales required. Must be able to read and analyze financial statements and legal documents. Must be able to communicate with bank personnel, bank examiners and auditors. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  1. Position requires a professional level of knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree. Thorough knowledge of related state and federal laws and regulations is required.
  1. Experience using PC software applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word to create reports and documents is necessary as well as an ability to read and interpret credit bureau information.
  2. Advanced problem solving skills are necessary to find solutions to problems that are technically complex and require collection, interpretation, and analysis of data from diverse sources.
  3. Work requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to prepare correspondence with clients and attorneys, compile and summarize data, and present results to contacts internally and externally.
  4. Position requires regular internal and external contacts to resolve more sensitive problems, clarify policies and procedures, which require the use of sensible judgment. Situations often require incumbent to be assertive.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.

Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.

Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
