Job Description
JLL has an exciting opportunity for a Union Operating Engineer to support our client's campus in Owings Mills, MD. If you have experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, we want to hear from you!

This job is an onsite position in a commercial office environment. It strongly focuses on preventative maintenance, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment on all systems.

Local Union 486.

What will some of your day look like?
Ensure that all appropriate R&M data (i.e. material costs, contract labor costs, Jones Lang LaSalle effort, etc.) is captured on a work order.

Review and analyze system data and develop initial recommendations with the Chief Engineer on any maintenance changes, upgrades, replacements, etc.

Cross-train other employees

Maintain up-to-date & complete system documentation in a central resource location, for all repairs or changes to the system.

Monitor, adjust, and maintain the refrigeration, chilled water, heat exchanger, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup, and hot water systems.

Record readings and make adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment

Perform preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment

Install and repair plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three-phase motors (under the direction of the Site Electrician); run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.

Install and rebuild pumps and motors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in various types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems, and associated controls.

Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of the building and equipment.

Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching, and motor controls, in the efficient operation of the facility.


Who should apply?
Required
A high school diploma or GED

3+ years of experience in building engineering with a heavy emphasis on HVAC

An EPA Universal


Preferred
An MD Stationary engineer license


Schedule: Monday - Friday day shift with an on-call rotation every 6 weeks for one week at a time.
