Job Description

MWH Constructors' Construction Management Services (CMS) group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Electrical Inspector for project work in Northern California, specifically Martinez, CA.

Essential Functions

  • Provide single-point field inspection of Contractor's work representing the Construction Manager in the field.
  • On a daily basis monitor and record all work scope being executed and prepare a comprehensive Daily Report with measurement of daily quantities completed and resources utilized.
  • Understand contract documentation and test plan for the designated Work Package.
  • Review, analyze and record any construction issues potentially resulting in a scope, time or cost impact to the work of the Contractor which may result in a change to the contract.
  • Ensure master As-built drawing information is being maintained by Contractor.
  • Attend, as necessary, Weekly Progress Meetings with Contractor, including review of progress to planned schedule.
  • Develop project specific quality control and assurance documents and standards for projects that are under development.
  • Plan and coordinate all field testing and inspections in accordance with the Contract Documents.
  • Document compliance and non-compliance with established quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Work with Construction Manager to implement methodology and criteria to resolve any non-compliance notices previously issued.
  • Review and submit all test reports for inclusion in turnover documentation to Owner.
  • Prepare written reports documenting QA/QC inspections, non-compliance notices, and corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction industry & inspection experience in industrial water/wastewater facilities and/or public utility projects.
  • Thorough understanding of construction safety, quality control and general contract management requirements necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant construction industry & inspection experience.
  • Experience with large water & wastewater treatment plants.
  • ICC Certification in Electrical/I&C Inspection.
  • Experience with PGE and Green Book knowledge

Compensation

  • The total hourly rate is $89.24 per the General Prevailing Wage Determination (PWD) made by the Director of Industrial Relations.
