About the Job:

Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a Treasury and EFT Sr. Services Specialist. The successful candidate will regularly provide accurate and reliable technical support to the Treasury and EFT Services department by thoroughly testing changes to systems. Develops and maintains monthly and ad hoc management reports on treasury and EFT products and services, including both risk assessment and periodic systemic reviews. Participate in projects to enhance the Treasury and EFT Services department efficiencies, and/or products and services. Follow established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Regulation E, NACHA Operating Rules, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Article 4A, UST Green Book and MasterCard Operating Rules. Provide professionally clear and concise information when conversing with clients. Consistently provide remarkable client experience for both internal and external clients, by following Sandy Spring Bank's Principles. Proficiently execute projects when assigned. Provide support for all functions within the Treasury and EFT group and seek out opportunities to learn new functions. Conduct system testing nights and weekends during upgrades.

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Provides reliable technical support and effective training to the department pertaining to treasury management and EFT products and services. Participates in system upgrades and testing as required. Develops and maintains accurate monthly and ad hoc managerial reports, including ACH, wire, card and other reports as requested.
  1. Ensures accurate setup of treasury management and EFT products and services by processing and verifying monetary and non-monetary transactions on the Deposit, Account Analysis, Card System, eBiz, ACH Modules, IFM and Escrow Management systems. Informs management of the current work status of the area, assisting with backlogs and the reassignment of work to ensure area standards are met and in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. Assists with the training of new and existing employees.
  1. Timely and accurately process daily EFT, ACH and Wire functions including Mastercard debit and ATM card affidavits, ACH Non-post, incoming and outgoing wire transfers and all other functions in the EFT area. Independently escalates any non-routine problems to all vendors (i.e. FIS and Wausau), opens and follow up on service tickets as necessary.
  1. Answers inquiries and requests from internal units pertaining to treasury management products and services. Accurately and efficiently maneuvers through BST, CST, Card Systems, eWire and Optima to research and resolve discrepancies and errors, keeping management and account officers apprised of customer impact issues. Escalates problems to Manager as necessary. Initiates follow up calls as appropriate.
  1. Recommends changes to policies and procedures for better efficiencies within the department.
  1. Performs other duties as required.

Required Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Position requires a two year college degree or five years experience in banking operations with knowledge in the following areas; Treasury Management products and services, Regulation E, NACHA Operating Rules, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Article 4A, UST Green Book and MC Operating Rules. AAP Certification is preferred or must be obtained within 24 months.
  1. Position requires strong technical and analytical skills to trouble shoot system problems, understands system configuration and perform data extracts to develop reports. Ability to utilize PC systems including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications is required.
  1. Position requires strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with management, co-workers and clients. Must be able to write clear and precise procedures for daily and monthly work.
  1. Effective interpersonal skills are necessary for working within a team environment, especially when training new and existing team members. Must be able to explain problems clearly and interact in a professional/positive manner.
  1. Candidate must possess the ability to organize and maintain files and records and to work accurately with attention to details and deadlines as well as the ability to work independently.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.

Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.

Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
