Responsibilities

Peraton has an exciting opportunity for a Network Administrator to join our team on-site in Landover, MD. Our program provides cycle support for a large Information Technology (IT) system for the Department of Defense (DoD).

The ideal candidate will possess experience with Networking Monitoring tools such as Zabbix or Node Manager and have a basic understanding and knowledge of Cisco routers.

This program delivers full life-cycle engineering support for all system elements including Development (hardware, software and networks), Systems and Security Engineering (Integration, testing and Deployment), Sustainment (Logistics, and field support), Network Operations Center (NOC)/Help Desk, and Government user training support for user community.

The Network Administrator will be responsible for but not limited to:

    Provides ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems, and provides overall level two support.
  • Designs, installs, maintains, and coordinates the use of network systems.
  • Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks.
  • Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems, and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets SLR requirements.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.
  • Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance, and problem resolution.
  • Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Enforces network security procedures.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the willingness and ability to obtain a Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's Degree with two (2+) years of network administration experience; or Masters Degree with no experience; or a High-school Diploma/GED with eight (8+) years of applicable work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements
  • A current/valid Security+ Certification, or equivalent IAT LVL II Certificate.
  • Experience with Networking Monitoring tools such as Zabbix or Node Manager.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of Cisco routers.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's Degree with five (5) to seven (7) years of network administration experience; or Masters Degree with three (3) to five (5); or a PhD with zero (0) to two (2) years of applicable work experience.
  • Current/valid CCNA Certification, or equivalent IAT LVL II Certificate.
  • Special consideration would be given to individuals' direct PDAS knowledge.
  • Experience supporting a 24x7 Network Operation Center.

The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
