Job Description:

Reporting to Global Sales Director, AMI, the Key Account Manager, AMI is responsible for varied interaction with staff, management, and executive levels within an organization. Focus will be on the sales and support of various automation hardware into the Defense & Nuclear markets in North America and Key Accounts Globally.

Primary Duties

  • Development of strategic relationships in key market areas.
  • Support customer installations providing both technical and commercial consultation to many facets of organization. Assist with process installation and validation for new and existing equipment.
  • Completion of live product demonstrations at customer site and related training on equipment as needed.
  • Manage and solve conflicts with client by providing profitable and strategic solutions to customer problems.
  • Gain specification approvals by meeting the needs of strategic customers to insure long-term profitable growth in capital equipment and consumable sales.
  • Establishes / maintains customer confidence at high levels and develops positive customer relationships to promote and secure long-term agreements.
  • Provide management of customer RFQs and generation of proposals to support. Complete proposal follows up and tactical action plans for each opportunity.
  • Effectively prepare and deliver sales presentations.
  • Goal setting and preparation of sales forecasts/ budgets
  • Report successes and failures on each account on a monthly/ as needed basis.
  • Increase market share of AMI's automation product with US based operations.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to retain a client-account manager relationship by nd
  • Collects and shares competitive intelligence and identifies weaknesses that may lead to product improvements and application development. Provide feedback to management and product marketing group with respect to market needs and conditions.
  • Interact and coordinate with the sales team and other staff members in other departments working on the same account. Support ESAB District Manager base as required.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree - in welding or manufacturing engineering or transferable background. Other engineering or related business disciplines acceptable based on experience.
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience in welding automation in customer account management roles.
  • Technical experience associated with working in manufacturing type environments.
  • Sales or key account management responsibilities in the Aerospace, Defense & Nuclear industry market related to welding processes.
  • Technical expertise in semi-automatic joining processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and provide varied levels of technical expertise.

Work Environment

  • Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment 'PPE' when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
  • Moves transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.
  • May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
  • Domestic travel required approximately 80%.
