POSITION SUMMARY

Verifies product conformance to design requirements. Provides objective evidence of results. Performs auditing, surveillance, and monitoring. Identify and documents discrepancies. Segregates and controls non-conforming items. Performs preliminary review and disposition of non-conformance. Conducts product review with customer during product or process verification. Identifies repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiates requests for corrective action.

Under limited supervision, inspects incoming parts and products, outgoing orders verify that certification is correct, checks parts for processing, checks special orders, daily use of micrometers, gauge controls, calipers, indicators, etc. Provides mentorship throughout the Inspection team. This responsibility will be discharged under the authority delegated by the Director of Quality

Essential Functions Statements

  • Responsible for the verification of incoming and outgoing product physical characteristics, traceability data, batch documentation Certificate of Conformity (CofC), and other related quality records, utilizing a range of inspection techniques and methods including, but not limited to visual, dimensional, mechanicals, automated, contact, and non-contact
  • Review and disposition all certification documentation to meet traceability requirements in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001 and Company Quality standards
  • Experienced quality individual in dimensional inspection of aerospace parts and components
  • Experience with hand measurement tools
  • Knowledge and experience in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Disposition and control of on-conforming product
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records and/or certifications systems as required by the applicable specifications
  • Determine acceptance or rejection after inspecting parts. Identify causes of defective conditions and test failures and prepare all appropriate documentation
  • Identify defective conditions to prints/processes and prepare all appropriate documentation
  • Interpret specifications, records, charts, manuals, and other data to arrive at acceptance or rejection. Use mathematics to convert blueprint dimensions and tolerances. Work within the guidelines of drawings, blueprints, quality directives, technical engineering specifications, customer's requirements, and military standards
  • Support internal quality audits for maintenance of Noble's quality certificate
  • Maintain calibration of measuring equipment and related documentation
  • Responsible for execution of customer and regulatory delegated inspection processes as authorized by those parties
  • Support Noble's and government agency counterfeit product oversight
  • Support quality oversight and audit activities from government agencies such as Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and other government oversight agencies.
  • Support root cause analysis, preventative, and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances and dispositions
  • Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
  • Support continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Technical/Vocational/Corporate Quality Training or (High School diploma/GED with equivalent experience) required
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Work requires basic computer and data entry skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inspection methods and techniques and following relevant work instructions
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with ISO 9100 and/or AS9100 series quality requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with LEAN processes and practices
  • Work requires willingness to work various shifts and some overtime, when required
  • Experience with aerospace blueprint and technical documentation reading and interpretation required
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and solve complex problems
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to press and analyze technical and business information
  • Ability to work in a team environment with effective communication skills
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Environmental conditions include the Job's normal exposure to weather, heat, cold, wet, height, fumes, electricity, or other adverse working condition, and the typical noise level in the Distribution environment
