  • POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of duties to provide assistance and information to all patients, visitors and staff. Enforce WVUH policies and procedures to provide a safe, secure environment, in support of the WVUH Security Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School diploma or equivalent AND 3 years of experience in the security field

OR

Associate's degree incriminal justice, criminology, forensics, law or related field of study AND 1 year experience

OR

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, forensics, law or related field of study AND 6 months experience in the security field.

-Must attain TASER user certification within one year

-Valid Driver's License is required and must be maintained during employment period

-Satisfactorily completion of the training requirements for an armed security officer is required.

-Meet all ACT 235 training certification requirements including satisfactory completion of Psychological evaluation, Physical and course work within 60 days of hire. ACT 235 certification must be maintained during employment period.

-Satisfactory completion of all departmental Lethal Weapon Training and course work required within one (1) year of hire.

-Obtain certification in HeartSaver First Aid within 60 days of hire date

-Successfully pass WV DHHR Protected Services Record Check and WV CARES fingerprint-based criminal background check.
