Job Description

Summary

For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Dietitians!

  • Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time Dietitian position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.
  • Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
  • Position Summary
    • The Dietitian directs and coordinates nutritional care to patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. Performs nutritional assessments; develops and implements care plans, education of patients, staff communication with physicians and health team members. Serves as a facilitator for all nutrition-related patient care needs.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or closely related field
    • License/Certifications: Active Maine State Registered Dietitian license required
    • Experience: N/A
    • Excellent knowledge of nutrition principles and diet therapy in order to accurately assess patients' medical and nutritional status and to formulate care plans
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients and other members of the healthcare team
    • Skill in time management, problem solving, multitasking, prioritizing and nutritional care coordination
    • Ability to respond the changing workload based on patient census and to direct, supervise and evaluate nutritional care needs in order to individualize nutritional care provided to patients
    • Ability to maintain professional manner even under stressful situations
    • Proficient computer and presentation skills
