The Johns Hopkins University is seeking to hire a Research Specialist IIwithin the School of Medicine. The position will involve using cellular, molecular biology, and genetic techniques to study cancer metastasis and therapy resistance. We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and independent individual, who has proven experience working within a medium to large sized lab. The successful applicant will have a track record of using scientific knowledge and lab experience to make independent decisions. Expertise in maintaining mouse colonies and obtaining approval for animal experiments is highly desired. Strong organizational and written communication skills will be required to carry out assigned projects, including an ability to prepare ACUC, IRB and IRB protocols.

The Egeblad Laboratory is focused on identifying the cellular and molecular mechanisms that drive metastasis and cancer therapy resistance. The lab combines mouse models, intravital imaging, primary cell co-cultures, cell biology, molecular genetics, bulk and single cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics and advanced microscopy to understand how specific immune cells regulate cancer cell metastasis and therapy resistance. Research in the lab makes extensive use of mouse models, co-cultures of primary cells isolated from genetically engineered mouse models and from patient tissue, and of microscopy.
