Responsibilities

Join Peraton's National Programs Business Intelligence Systems & Applications Operating Unit as a Linux Systems Administrator and become an integral part of our team supporting the SITE III BES contract. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a critical project orchestrating, sustaining, and evolving a suite of applications that play a pivotal role in the Defense Intelligence Agency's global workforce administration.

As a valued member of our team, you will:

Ensure High Availability:

    Take charge of maintaining systems at peak performance, swiftly resolving any issues, and responding to customer inquiries and tickets promptly.

System Monitoring and Patching:

  • Conduct daily system monitoring to ensure smooth operations and execute monthly software patching activities.

Troubleshooting Expertise:

  • Identify and address network and application performance issues, providing expert recommendations for resolution.

Off-Hours Support:

  • Be prepared to tackle system issues and provide on-site support during off-hours if necessary, ensuring uninterrupted service.

Security Implementation:

  • Implement security measures, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and patch management.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with government clients, project leads, Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs), application vendors, and end-users to drive effective solutions.

Documentation:

  • Play a crucial role in creating and updating documentation, making complex system configurations easily understandable. This includes daily standard operating procedures (SOPs), Security Test Procedures (STPs), Traceability Matrix (SCTM), System Install Procedures (SIPs), System Administration Guides (SAGs), System User Manuals (SUMs), and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).

Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a poly
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study and 8 or more years of relevant experience. Additional
  • 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum 8 years of experience with systems administration
  • 5+ years Linux administration w/scripting experience required
  • Active Security+ (DoD 8570 Baseline certification for IAT Lvl 2)
  • Experience with implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and
  • Experience performing routine patching
  • Experience installing and configuring software applications
  • Experience in performance tuning/troubleshooting, identifying/resolving contention in CPU, memory, networking, disk I/O, etc.
  • Experience maintaining system documentation including reading and creating network architecture diagrams

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating System
  • Experience maintaining system documentation including reading and creating network architecture diagrams
  • Familiar withTomcat 8.5 or higher
  • Familiar with Mongo database
  • Familiar with Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Cloud environment

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
