Description:

This position as Technical Program Manager is in the Data Science and Analytics PMO within the Core Data and Analytics (CDA) Organization. The role is responsible for managing one or more large, sophisticated programs consisting of multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with multiple teams and across workstreams to define scope, timeline and dependencies of projects.

  • Defines priorities and success criteria based on business partner objectives.

  • Works with business area, analysts and engineers to understand data and technical requirements

  • Identifies and mitigates program risks by removing impediments and raising when applicable. Is proficient in risk management processes.

  • Leads, coordinates and participates in program ceremonies from concept to production.

  • Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.

  • Collaborates with leadership to align resources across programs, projects or services; works within general department policies and industry guidelines.

  • Adheres to the organizational program structure and follows PMO standards to deliver on strategic objectives.

  • Heavily passionate about good communication to ensure key decisions and project status is clear to stakeholders at all levels in an enterprise setting.

  • Responsible for reporting status, achievements and results in a timely manner and in accordance with PMO best practices.

  • Maintains positive working relationships with customers, business partners and team members.

  • Contributes to a positive team culture with a can do attitude

  • Is an eager and constant learner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • 9-14 years of professional experience

  • Five or more years of project management experience at a program management level in a technology and/or data function.

  • Experience working within program management methodologies & governance

  • Solid understanding of project management / agile tooling, Jira a plus

  • Practical knowledge of database design and experience capturing technical data requirements preferred.

  • Strong, problem solving and analytical thinking skills

  • Lean, A3 or Six Sigma experience a plus.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$100,030.00

Pay Range - End:

$185,770.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
