Requiring a minimal level of supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Cardio-Vascular Interventional Technologist is responsible for addressing the special needs of patients undergoing interventional angiography procedures. The Technologist provides direct patient care specific to their discipline, to include basic monitoring, assisting the physician with invasive radiographic procedures, and documenting appropriately. These specialists are members of the Patient Care Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care. Patients served may include adolescent through adult-geriatric as a Cardio-Vascular Interventional Tech; infant through adult-geriatric as a Radiology Technologist.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an approved and accredited radiology educational program required. Registration from the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists and licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist in the state of Maryland is required. Current ACLS certification preferred. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required.
