HDR is looking for a Senior Signing and Marking Engineer to join our Transportation Business Group in Raleigh, NC. In the role of Senior Signing and Marking Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Provide oversight and/or manage signing and marking projects, including engineering and design
  • Develop signing and marking plans, specifications, and estimates design packages and concept plans
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects as needed
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Assist with the development of local transportation program and serve as a technical expert nationally
  • Plan, direct, and monitor Signing and Marking disciplines as part of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, sometimes involving a large project staff
  • Leverage work-share opportunities and coordinate workload with business class managers
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience on medium to large, complex projects
  • Strong project management background a plus
  • PE License
  • Extensive experience in industry standards, including MUTCD
  • Proven leadership, business development, and mentoring skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with multiple state DOTs/regions
  • Leadership role in professional organizations
