Job Description

Summary

MaineHealth is currently hiring for Patient Registration Clerks and Patient Service Representatives in our Emergency Departments and our Admitting Departments for Mid Coast Hospital (Brunswick, ME), Waldo County Hospital (Belfast, ME), Pen Bay Medical (Rockport, ME), and Lincoln Health (Damariscotta, ME). Various shifts and schedules are available to qualified applicants. We have full-time, part-time and per diem openings available for days, nights and weekends.

We also provide shift differentials, unique committed shift bonuses, and aggressive sign on bonuses.

We are currently offering up to a $4,000 sign on bonus!

  • Current MaineHealth employees not eligible for the sign on bonus. Former Team Members must be separated from MaineHealth system greater than 3 months to be eligible.
  • Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem are ineligible.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains signatures, verifies identification and insurance eligibility, obtains copies of insurance cards and completes forms as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Admits patients and transfers appropriate paperwork.
  • Involves interactions with doctors, nurses and other hospital personnel that requires strict patient confidentiality.
  • Assists patients with handling clerical problems and resolving any issues such as adding new insurance information.
  • Hospital will provide extensive on-the-job training regarding our policies and procedures and knowledge of basic medical terminology will be trained.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential, as well as empathy for people in crisis.
  • This person should be able to handle multiple tasks at once, prioritize work and manage interruptions easily.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Relevant experience required.
