Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Project Manager/ Resident Engineer include assisting the Construction Control Corporation (CCC) construction services group and the other business group managers with daily operations of construction services projects, such as providing engineering expertise and project oversight, managing project quality control and quality assurance for assigned construction projects, managing inspection services, monitoring required construction training certification status and safety requirements, and managing project staff. The Project Manger/Resident Engineer will have the ability to forecast workload for construction staff, facilities, vehicles, equipment, and other resources necessary to deliver the construction project assignments. They will assist with strategic planning, execution, growth, mentoring, recruiting, business development, and client management. The candidate will support and may perform project controls efforts such as CPM schedule review, change order tracking, construction cost control, RFI and submittal management, document management, and materials certification management. Some travel may be required. This position reports directly to the Construction Services Manager.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related degree.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience is preferred on various aspects of construction projects including acting as the owner's authorized representative for projects, preparing change orders, reviewing submittals, reviewing schedules, field engineering and inspection, materials sampling and testing management, and managing construction project staff.
  • Work in the transportation industry is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required including Microsoft Project.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) Inspection Qualifications (IQP) desirable.
  • Experience and relationships with the Idaho Transportation Department and Local Idaho Highway Agencies is preferred.
