Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a Project Engineer to join our Water Business Group team in Kansas City, MO. This role requires a technical background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of water resources infrastructure. The Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for assisting and leading projects that include planning and modeling related to watersheds, streams, lakes, and closed drainage systems. They will need to be skilled in performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using various modeling software, using GIS to assist with parameter and model development, planning and reporting tasks, and be able to work both independently and as a team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline required.
  • Must have significant experience with various hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software and GIS.
  • Must have experience with standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • PE required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience related to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and thrive working in a team environment.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
