General Responsibilities
We are seeking an adjunct faculty member with proficiency in end-user computer concepts with Microsoft Office 2019/365 suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) as well as Windows 10/11. General use and best practices with today's technology are also the focus of the courses. The individual will teach in either a traditional face-to-face on the main HCC campus or scheduled remote/online format.

Work Performed
  • Teaching of courses (including our 3-credit Computer Concepts course and/or our 1-credit Microsoft Office courses).
  • Plan, organize, and teach curriculum content in alignment with course objectives.
  • Use applicable technology and pedagogical principles, teach course content via an appropriate delivery format (may include face-to-face, hybrid, online, and remote instruction).
  • Complete required institutional trainings and professional development.
  • Follow department and division requirements for preparing a course syllabus.
  • Plan and deliver appropriate instructional activities that promote student engagement and learning.
  • Evaluate student performance using assessment tools as directed by the department
  • Inform students in a timely manner of their progress. Maintain an up-to-date electronic grade book and enter final grades by the established due date.
  • Comply with attendance and grading requirements as established for the course.
  • Participate in departmental evaluation and course assessment processes as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with students, including timely replies to student emails.
  • Use the assigned HCC email and/or CANVAS LMS for communication with the department and with students.
  • keep up-to-date with current industry standards

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computers, business administration or similar related field
  • Certification in Microsoft Office Software (MOS, TOSA Desktop, or IC3) is preferred but not required.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and commitment to the community college philosophy and mission
  • Interested candidate must be available to teach day, evening, and/or weekend sections
