Responsibilities

TRC is seeking an initiative-taking Construction Inspector for our growing transportation practice in Memphis, TN.

TRC is seeking both entry level and senior Construction Engineering Inspectors. Will support one or more projects for clients that primarily include the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) - Region 4.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the contractor's on-site construction activities and inspecting materials to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions for the construction contract.
  • Maintain detailed records of the contractor's daily operations and events that affect the work and monitoring and inspecting contractor's work zone temporary traffic control plan as well as reviewing modifications to the plan. Must be familiar with TDOT paperwork, forms, and recording procedures.
  • Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work in accordance with the construction contract.
  • Enter sampling and testing data into TDOT LIMS.
  • Report to and assist the Project Construction Manager.


Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years of experience in construction inspection including asphalt paving and bridge construction.

Certifications and Qualifications:

Must either have the following certifications or be able to obtain such (through company paid classes) in the first year of employment:

  • 10 Hour OSHA Construction Safety
  • TDEC Level 1 Certification from TNEPSC
  • TDOT HMA Certified Roadway Inspector
  • TDOT Concrete Field Technician (Alternately, ACI Grade 1)
  • TDOT Asphalt Plant Technician
  • TDOT Hazardous Materials Technician
  • TDOT Soils and Aggregate Technician
  • Work Zone Traffic Control/Flagging Certification

Additional Certifications are desirable, but not mandatory:

  • TDEC Level 2 Certification from TNEPSC
  • CPESC
  • Bridge Coating Inspection Certification
  • NHI Safety of In-Service Bridges Certification

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $20.00 - USD $88.84 /Hr.
