Job Description
Description

Summary

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the lab of Dr. Julie Arenberg with a focus cochlear implant psychophysics, physiology, and programming in children and adults. We study hearing and speech perception in children and adults, many of whom have cochlear implants. We also measure evoked potentials and develop computational models of the interface between cochlear implants and the target auditory neurons. We compare physiological and perceptual measures between early implanted children and post-linguistically deafened adults who were implanted as adults. Future work will explore auditory development, plasticity and training in cochlear implant listeners. Our primary goal is to better understand the auditory system as it has likely been altered by etiology, experience and the cochlear implant itself. We integrate underlying neuroscience principles with the practice of clinical audiology.

Interested applicants should email their CV, names of 3 references and cover letter to Julie_Arenberg@meei.harvard.edu.
