Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager Engineering, we'll count on you to:

HDR Engineering is looking for a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our growing group in the Gulf Coast TX area . The primary duties of the Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager include but are not limited to planning, directing and monitoring technical aspects of larger and mid-sized water and/or wastewater treatment projects which contain a high degree of technical complexity. In addition, the position will be required to serve the role as client manager and assist in growing our practice.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Involved with client relationships with specific focus on relaying HDR's pump station and pipeline credentials.
  • Coordinates with marketing and technical leadership for business development.
  • Independently coordinate work of engineers and balance planning team throughout entire project's development.
  • May be involved with coordinating staffing and workload of staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Will work with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers or Company Controllers and the Department Manager or Managing Principal for project reviews.
  • Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and for the execution of training for personnel as established.
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Coordinate workload throughout entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • PE license or ability to obtain
  • 12+ years design experience working on large, complex water and wastewater projects
  • Strong client and project management skills are required.
  • Water/wastewater treatment plant design experience.
  • Demonstrates leadership and communication skills. A desire to grow our water/wastewater treatment practice
  • Strong technical leadership, mentoring and project management background.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Successful client relationships in the greater Houston area.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Some travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates local to the Gulf Coast Texas area
  • Masters degree
