Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Lighting Designer 1, we'll count on you to:

  • Work with senior staff to increase your knowledge and understanding of lighting design
  • Participate in industry events to increase your knowledge of familiarity with product offerings
  • Ask questions
  • Under the direction of a project lead you will be involved in all aspects of the design process:
    • Producing renderings and presentation materials
    • Performing illumination, energy and economic calculations
    • Producing CAD/ Revit lighting plans, schedules, details
    • Producing lighting and lighting control specifications
    • Assist with field observations, RFI responses, shop drawing reviews
  • Look for and support award/publication opportunities

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' or Masters' Degree in Architectural Engineering with a specialty in Lighting/Electrical.
  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Electrical Engineering with some lighting coursework or a prior lighting internship.
  • Strong CAD skills (Revit, Autocad)
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
  • Effective working individually and within team environments
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lighting calculation and rendering software (AGI, ELUM, iRay)
  • Basic computer skills (Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Sketch-up, Lumion)
