Primary Responsibilities

In the role of the Water Treatment Principal Project Manager, we'll count on you to:

  • Provide technical leadership on primarily on projects from large water treatment programs to smaller projects to provide state-of-the-art design solutions for a variety of water clients, as well as other project types where needed.
  • Plan, direct and monitor technical aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically involving a large project staff
  • Coordinate technical aspects for several projects concurrently
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing strategy, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Support proposal development and technical approach strategy
  • Coordinate schedule to support technical staff through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Conduct schematic, design development and contract document technical work sessions at project sites in conjunction with other appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
  • Support Business Class Leadership with participation in HDR's PARR (Project Approach and Resource Review) reviews, as well as quality control reviews of pipeline projects.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and execute training for personnel as needed to expand technical capabilities of staff
  • Mentoring of junior staff
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. MS preferred.
  • 15+ years' experience working on large, complex projects with strong project/technical management background
  • PE within the geographic area (PA, NJ, DE, and/or MD) or the ability to obtain through reciprocity
  • In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art practices to proactively design new as well as rehabilitate large water treatment plants
  • Proven leadership, business development and mentoring skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
