HDR is looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Water team in Austin or San Antonio, TX with a technical background in water and wastewater utility relocation and coordination. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, lead and prioritize multiple ongoing designs and deadlines, and function as part of a larger utility relocation team to bring delivery excellence to our clients.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Lead the design efforts of linear water and wastewater utility projects including drawing preparation
  • Engage other engineers and younger Engineer-in-Training staff to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Perform QA/QC on water and wastewater designs
  • Coordinate with various groups of City Departments, Clients, HDR teammates, subconsultants and directly with utility owners
  • Perform continued support for the design during construction phases
  • Support activities as part of our Austin Water Utilities client management team, including leading meetings with AW plan reviewers
  • Ability to coordinate plan review sessions and coordinate waivers with Austin Water
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering required
  • PE
  • 8+ years of relevant linear water and wastewater design experience
  • Excellent communication skills and thrive working in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
