Our Power team is seeking a Power Generation Project Manager to join our nationally ranked team in Omaha, NE.

Primary Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the Power Generation Project Manager include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of large multi-discipline design or owner's engineer (OE) projects or medium sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff. In addition, the position includes acting as the principal technical resource on project assignments, particularly in the candidate's core engineering discipline but also covering review and oversight of multi-discipline requirements.

  • Often involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently.
  • Establishes client relations and is involved with marketing, contractual issues, design and production meetings.
  • Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines.
  • Responsible to coordinate the staffing and workload of the project staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures including maintaining records, lists and reports as required to ensure compliance with company and project engineering procedures.
  • Ensure engineering problems are monitored and resolved.
  • Monitor, direct and control activities of engineering sub-consultants.
  • Assist the Project Manager in assigned duties. Perform technical design reviews and coordination.
  • Act as mentor for less experienced assigned engineering staff and team members.
  • Advise engineering Section Managers as necessary, of corrective actions, recommendations for training, or recognition of assigned professionals.
  • Review, evaluate, and provide input to Section Managers of assigned professionals work performance for Performance Previews.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • 8+ years hands-on design/engineering experience in power industry related projects including at least 5 years experience as a project manager.
  • Experience as a Project Engineer or Engineering Manager responsible for multi-discipline project engineering team is preferred.
  • Combined Cycle power generation design experience desired
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PE License strongly preferred, PMP considered.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and client relationships in Nebraska and Iowa markets area preferred.
