JOB SUMMARY: The Warehouse Supervisor maintains facility, fleet, and equipment and receives and manages inventory. The position supports all distribution activities, including truck rental, contracted drivers, satellite distribution, and volunteer tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain SHARE's warehouse and offices in accordance with relevant health, fire, and safety codes, ensuring that all spaces are always clean and orderly.
  • Oversee product deliveries with the ability to execute and/or actively participate in the receiving process when necessary.
    1. Unload trucks and inspect goods for quantity, quality, and condition, deconstructing/reconstructing palletized products when necessary to ensure a thorough examination and accurate count.
    2. Verify the accuracy of delivery against invoices/receiving documents.
    3. Ensure SHARE standard of quality for all goods and products at the time of receipt.
    4. Store products in a logical, safe, and orderly manner.
    5. Ensure that food is maintained at a proper temperature and is well secured.
    6. Protect goods from spoilage, destruction, abuse, fire, and theft.
  • Support all Distribution activities, including execution and/or active participation when necessary.

    1. Warehouse set up using a forklift.

    2. Count and maintain food inventory using forklift and pallet jack when necessary.

    3. Truck rental, pick-up and return.

    4. Coordinate drivers and satellite distribution staff.

    5. Assign, train and oversee volunteer tasks by demonstration, observation, and verbal or written instruction to ensure accurate distribution of goods while complying with SHARE Food Network safety policies and procedures.

    6. Interface with Host Site teams picking up orders.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining standards and systems for inventory control.
    1. Constantly monitor the temperature and condition of inventory.

    2. Maintain accurate and complete records.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining standards and systems for general warehouse operations and safety.

  • Order, receive, and maintain an accurate inventory of warehouse and office supplies and equipment per budget, ensuring the proper functionality of all facility equipment.
  • Supervise staff, including recruiting, hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, training, and employee discipline. Ensure staffing is scheduled within the budgeted hours. Coordinate and lead warehouse staff meetings.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on POS and warehousing software.

  • Participate in management and all staff meetings.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of experience working in a warehouse environment
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 1 year experience training others
  • 1 year experience in data entry
  • Trained and/or certified to operate equipment including but not limited to a forklift, pallet jack, truck lift, and motorized dock plate if necessary.
  • This position requires a valid driver's license and clean driving record. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work, and warehouse environment.

  • Valid local Driver's License and clean driving record required.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:

  • Attention to detail and record-keeping skills and ability to perform data entry.

  • Ability to problem-solve and follow-through and ability to communicate detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
