Job Description
  1. Review medication orders based upon Departmental procedures and therapeutic appropriateness, and orders are interpreted and entered into the patient profile correctly, and dispensed appropriately and according to law and regulation.
  2. Performs monthly inspections of assigned nursing/treatment areas, where medications are stored, in the specified time period.
  3. Complies with Departmental/Hospital clinical protocols and conducts clinical activities with the highest diligence and professionalism.
  4. Maintains necessary/required knowledge base to communicate effectively with Medical and Nursing personnel regarding medication therapies.
  5. Demonstrates the technical competence necessary to provide quality care to age specific patient populations.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Team Leader, the Pharmacy Supervisor, the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator, and/or the Director of Pharmacy.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a minimum of a BS in Pharmacy degree. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Maryland. Pharm.D. and/or hospital pharmacy residency preferred but not required.
  • One to two years hospital pharmacy experience desirable, but not required.
Additional Information

Ambulatory Pharmacist - Responsibilities may include anticoagulation clinic (AC) services, transitional care services and medication therapy management (MTM) Services.
