Job Summary:

The position will support Supernus's drug discovery and preclinical development efforts in the department of Preclinical DMPK and Pharmacology. The individual will help analyze and manage datasets related to small molecule drug discovery with a focus on CNS disorders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage growing portfolio of compounds generated through computer-aided drug design (CADD).
  • Maintain and update databases related to small molecule drug development.
  • Analyze and generate inferences from large chemical libraries.
  • Effectively illustrate and communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Uphold high data integrity and organization standards.
  • Serve as liaison to contract research organizations (CROs) for activities related to the drug discovery program.
  • Document data-driven discussions about ongoing discovery programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • N/a

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years minimum relevant work experience or Master's degree in a technical or related field.
  • Ability to extract and transform data from disparate sources.
  • Basic knowledge of fundamental chemistry/biology concepts and targets related to CNS diseases preferred.
  • Experience building data pipelines from scratch.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar programming languages is highly desired but not required.
  • Knowledge of advanced CADD topics, which may include but are not limited to cheminformatics, medicinal chemistry, and structural biology.
  • Ability to manage high performance cloud computing resources (Azure preferred).
  • Strong problem solving and collaboration skills.
  • Strength in delivering results upon agreed timeline.
  • Strong motivation to work in a dynamic and high-achieving environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
