What You'll Do:

As the Systems Analyst - Acoustic SME, you will support the Air ASW Systems Program Office (PMA-264) at NAS Patuxent River, MD. In this role, you will primarily support RDT&E of acoustic sensors and systems and their integration into the P-8A platform. This position will be 100% on-site.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the program office in managing the engineering requirements associated with multiple, diverse Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) systems
  • Maintaining engineering relationship with the PMA-264 Class Desk
  • Assisting in the development of Operator Machine Interfaces (OMI), CONOPS, CONEMPS, Systems Specifications, and document preparation to support the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes and the requirements analysis
  • Perform analysis of acoustic flight data for the generation of studies for fleet operational recommendations
  • Participating in Working Groups using ASW knowledge and expertise to generate recommendations and/or plans of action to resolve issues
  • Participating in the STR/CDP management process
  • Provide P-8A acoustic fleet support
  • Evaluating and guiding Engineering Change Proposals (ECP)
  • Participating in Working Groups using engineering knowledge and expertise to generate recommendations and plans of action to resolve issues
  • Participating in weekly programmatic and technical meetings
  • Participate in flight duties as a Project Specialist

Requirements

Who You Are:

  • You have at least 3 years of experience with the P-8 platform as an Acoustic Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare Operator
  • You have significant operational experience and knowledge of Acoustic training systems and courseware
  • Demonstrated experience in all facets of ASW and OPS along with associated tactics, is required
  • MAC experience is desired
  • Some travel will be required
  • You are able to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • You have professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision
  • You have demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Your organizational skills are impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
