Administrative Assistant I

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.

The Administrative Assistant I provide essential administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities include managing phone calls and correspondence, organizing files and documents, scheduling appointments, maintaining office supplies, and assisting with basic bookkeeping tasks. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in using office software and equipment. The Administrative Assistant I contribute to an efficient and professional work environment while assisting in various administrative tasks as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Administrative Assistant I Responsibilities Include:

  • Formulates and affects travel plans and priorities; maintain up-to-date travel policies and standard operating procedures for the organization.
  • Carries out major travel assignments using discretion and independent judgment when deciding the best course of action before obligating government funds and obtaining any required authorizations.
  • Assists in the preparation and monitoring of correspondence from different support site administrators.
  • Resolves travel related issues and grievances by properly investigating matters on behalf of the client, evaluating possible courses of conduct, making recommendations, and taking appropriate action.
  • Maintains accurate financial ledger related to funds projected and expended in support of travel and provide financial reports related to the expenditure of travel-related activities.
  • Performs correspondence review and document management.
  • Provides executive, human resources, logistical and meeting support.
  • Provides time and attendance support.
  • Performs database support.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Administrative Assistant I Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, a High School Diploma or equivalent is required and 2 years' experience.
  • Shall possess a solid working knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), and current SharePoint application.
  • Prefer knowledge of Task Management Tools or another web-based calendar program
  • Must have strong communicative skills and proficiency in spelling and grammar.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
