Supervisor, Engineering / Maintenance

Position Objective:

To provide direct supervision for maintenance staff in the performance of daily maintenance operations. Organize work orders to ensure staff have supplies and materials for the next day jobs. Assigns and oversees maintenance staff daily scheduled and unscheduled work activities. Prioritizes all emergency and non-emergency work: both corrective maintenance and service requests.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Provide frontline supervision, oversight, and accountability for staff work performance.
  2. Conduct and supervise daily corrective action and preventive maintenance activities for facilities and grounds.
  3. Ensure proper utilization of available resources to allow for work to be completed in a timely manner.
  4. Prioritize, assign and follow up on work orders to ensure efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction of work achieved.
  5. Establish effective means of communication with staff, peers, and all key stakeholders.
  6. Work with outside contractors as needed to complete repairs and projects.
  7. Manage supply needs ensuring proper stock is kept and supplies are ordered on time.
  8. Assist with the supervision of Life safety and other audits and surveys to ensure that the physical environment meets established quality and applicable safety.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

Required Minimum Education.

The minimum level of education for this position includes:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree preferred but experience in related field can be substituted for degree requirements.

Required License/Certifications:

  • Preferred CHFM
  • Must have a valid Maryland driver's license and a driving record with no more than two (2) points.
