Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, the Director - School Improvement leads the Baltimore City Public Schools (City Schools) school improvement strategy development and oversees the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) designated Comprehensive Support and Improvement Schools (CSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement Schools (TSI) strategy implementation. The Director works closely with staff across offices including the Offices of Academics, Schools, Family & Community Engagement, Continuous Improvement, and Achievement and Accountability, to ensure the district's improvement strategy work and implementation of interventions aligns with the specifications outlined in the grants and in accordance with guidance provided by MSDE. Additionally, the Director will lead the strategic improvement efforts for the district's lowest performing schools. The Director works with colleagues to regularly analyze data to support continuous improvement and ensure that schools are on track to meet the performance targets. The Director serves as an impactful liaison with state agencies and communicates results through reports and presentations to facilitate monitoring and necessary support to schools in need of improvement.
