Clinical Research Audiologist - Maison Research

Job Description

The Eaton-Peabody Lab at Massachusetts Eye and Ear is looking to hire a Research Audiologist to support ongoing research efforts in human subjects with a variety of etiologies including tinnitus and Meniere's disease. The audiologist will be a primary point of contact with our research participants and will also be responsible for data collection, maintaining the research equipment, and research data management.


  1. Communicates with potential research participants about the aims and procedures of our studies.
  2. Obtains consent from subjects to participate in our research experiments.
  3. Assesses hearing health and administers questionnaires to establish their eligibility to participate in our research experiments.
  4. Prepares subjects for audiologic, electrophysiologic and psychophysical assessments.
  5. Works with Research Fellows and other senior laboratory staff to record and manage data.
  6. Participate in data analysis.

A doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) or its equivalent is required. A Ph.D., prior research experience and/or prior experience working with tinnitus patients are all a plus.


Spends time working in a human research laboratory.


Able to work with human subjects. Able to manipulate fine instruments are required for ear exams and placement of ear-canal electrodes.
