HDR is looking for a Transportation Engineer / Planner to join our South Atlantic Area Transportation Business Group. This role may be based out of any of the following South Atlantic Area offices: Charlotte-NC, Raleigh- NC, Columbia-SC, Greenville-SC, Charleston-SC, or Atlanta-GA. In this role, we'll count on you to:

*Perform complex traffic engineering projects, exercise sound engineering judgment, preparation of traffic signal plans, traffic impact study reports and other traffic analysis simulations.

*Make decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed

*Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects, but project management is not sole focus of this position

*Supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed

*Perform other duties as needed


Required Qualifications

BS degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field

Minimum of 5 years or traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design experience

PE or AICP required

Hands-on experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM or TransModeler

Familiarity with High Safety Manual procedures, tools and concepts

Proficiency with MS Office, Excel, Word

Strong verbal and written skills
