Primary Responsibilities

As a Roadway Engineer the primary responsibilities include working as a key member of a highway/roadway design team on design and design-build projects and serving as a task manager on a variety of projects. This would include preparing or overseeing the preparation of the following roadway/highway design work using local or AASHTO standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, intersections, interchanges, 3D corridor modeling, and assist in preparing scopes, budgets and schedules. A key aspect of this role is successful collaboration across multiple disciplines including drainage, structures, traffic, etc.

Required Qualifications

BSCE is required.

PE license required.

5+ years of transportation engineering design experience required.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Microstation and other design software as appropriate. Experience with OpenRoads 3D Corridor Modeling is required. Experience working on VDOT, DDOT, MDTA and/or MDSHA projects preferred. Experience working on Design-Build projects preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work with various teams, and leadership and management skills desirable.
