There are many benefits for children playing youth sports, including exercise, learning to work as a team, and dealing with the ups and downs of success and failure. Kevin Kniffin, a behavioral scientist at Cornell University, was part of a group studying the effects of youth sports on one's career as an adult, particularly in the area of leadership. Kevin explains to Tim Muma how employers view former athletes, and why individuals who played varsity high school sports often enjoy successful careers and display characteristics companies desire in their leaders.
