Our Mission

JEVS Human Services enhances the employability, independence, and quality of life of individuals through a broad range of programs. Consistent with our core principles and entrepreneurial spirit, JEVS Human Services creates innovative and sustainable solutions to address current and future community needs.

JEVS embraces change, seizes opportunities for its clients, and leads the industry with innovative programming.

JEVS is there…

In 1941, a group of 25 concerned citizens deeply committed to helping refugees find a meaningful vocation in America came together to form the Jewish Employment and Vocational Service. Quickly expanding our breadth to help people of all races and religions, we later became known as JEVS Human Services, an organization dedicated to Making Hope Happen.

Each year, our services help nearly 25,000 individuals with physical, developmental, and emotional challenges as well as those facing adverse socio-economic conditions, including unemployment and underemployment, realize their goals, achieve independence and live lives with dignity.

Operating with an annual budget of nearly $100 million, JEVS Human Services has 1,000 employees and more than two dozen successful programs providing skills development, job readiness and career services, vocational rehabilitation, recovery services, adult and residential day services, and in-home personal assistance.
